Brighton is among the most expensive cities to park

BRIGHTON is one of the most expensive cities in the UK for parking, according to a new study.

A report by Moneybarn found that the average cost of an hour’s stay in the city was £5.45 on average – more expensive than Glasgow, Liverpool and Bristol.

However, it was Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, which was the most expensive at a staggering £7.78 an hour – more expensive than even London, which averaged £6.56.

On the other side of the table, Worthing was third for cheapest parking, tied with Coventry with an average hourly cost of just £1.45, behind Chelmsford and Preston.

Despite its low cost, Worthing was also ranked in the top 20 UK cities where parking is hardest, with just 3.30 spaces per 1,000 cars.
