Brighton is making progress in finding a new boss

Roberto De Zerbi is widely regarded as the most likely successor to Graham Potter.

The former Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk boss was reported today by the Daily Telegraph to have held talks with Albion over the weekend, with negotiations said to be at an “advanced stage”.

The Argus were informed this afternoon that the process being followed by the club to appoint a new first-team boss is “progressive”.

Albion return on Saturday 1st October when they visit Liverpool.

Many of their players are now with international squads.

Their Under-21s lost 1-0 to Everton in Premier League 2 today, with Evan Ferguson and Ed Turns coming closest to a goal.

Argus reported on Friday afternoon that an announcement of the new boss could be expected next week at the earliest.
