Brighton MP’s aide apologizes after ‘fascist’ comments at rally

An AN MP staffer has apologized for phoning a father and his baby fascists at a rally in Brighton on Sunday.

Ms Kavanagh, who is a member of Lloyd Russell-Moyle’s political staff, was seen yelling at the man and his child, along with another protester, who said he was raising “a little fascist”.

She is also seen saying, “You think that’s okay, right? Raising a kid who believes that crap, raising a kid who doesn’t accept trans people — it’s 2022, you’re gross.”

Ms Kavanagh has since apologized on Twitter, saying: “I got angry at a man who held a child at a protest on Sunday.

“I want to say that I am deeply embarrassed by my actions.

“I acted hastily in the heat of the moment and I regret it.”

She also wrote on Tuesday: “I let the trans community down with my behavior.

“My desire to protect my trans friends has led me to act in ways I shouldn’t have.

“I am ashamed of my actions and I am sorry.

“It was a tough learning experience for me and should be a lesson for all of us.

“My yelling and behavior was wrong and will now be used against the trans community that we all want to support.

“I was wrong and it won’t happen again.”

A spokesman for Lloyd Russell-Moyle said: “We do not comment on internal personnel matters.” Brighton MP’s aide apologizes after ‘fascist’ comments at rally
