Shakila Ahmed, spokeswoman for Travelodge said: “Our latest Travel Index shows that 2022 will be the year for Best of British holidays. More Brits are exploring hidden holiday gems on their doorstep than ever before and there’s great news that Scarborough is one of the country’s top holiday destinations for 2022.
“Record-breaking heatwaves this summer have also inspired Brits to take more spontaneous breaks in seaside resorts like Scarborough.”
“We are also seeing travel trends changing across our 580 UK Travelodge hotels, including 13 hotels in North Yorkshire.
“With so much to see and so little time and money, the traditional two-week holiday is on the decline and much shorter breaks, particularly in Scarborough, are on the rise.”
