Brighton stars named in international squads

Albion stars hop on their bikes and set out for international action ahead of the World Championship.

Ecuador trio Moises Caicedo, Pervis Estupinan and Jeremy Sarmiento have all been called up in the Ecuador squad for two friendlies in Europe in preparation for Qatar.

Leandro Trossard keeps his place in the Belgian group.

And Robert Sanchez will once again link up with Spain when they compete in the UEFA Nations League.

The Spanish announcement, confirming Sanchez’s place, was the most imaginative.

Head coach Luis Enrique donned cycling gear and headed to the hills near Madrid with one of his assistants, Aitor Unzue, son of a former Sevilla goalkeeper and nephew of the manager of the Movistar cycling team.

The film was in honor of the recent Vuelta A Espana cycle race.

Enrique said: “In goal we will play as we have done so far – Unai Simon, Robert Sanchez, David Raya.”

Spain meets Portugal and Switzerland in the Nations League.

Trossard is in Belgium’s 30-man squad for the Nations League games against Wales and the Netherlands.

Ecuador will play against Saudi Arabia in Murcia and against Japan in Düsseldorf.

Caicedo said, “We’re going to go there like the World Cup is already starting and try to win those two games.” Brighton stars named in international squads
