Brighton to London train services are delayed after vehicle drove onto the bridge

Trains between Brighton and London were disrupted after the vehicle reportedly drove onto a bridge.

Service was delayed after reports that trains were congested due to the incident near Redhill.

A passenger said that an announcement was made to late trains and that she missed her connecting train because of the delay.

The Gatwick Express, Southern and ThamesLink services between Brighton and London Bridge are believed to be affected.

In a tweet, Govia Thameslink, which operates services on Brighton’s main line, said: “We have been advised that some lines are closed due to a road vehicle colliding with a bridge between Purley and Redhill.”
