Brighton Under-21s suffer Trophy loss to Gillingham

Evan Ferguson was on target against the EFL opposition.

But his goal and a finish from Todd Miller could not prevent Albion U21s’ defeat.

They lost 3-2 in Gillingham in their second group game of the Papa John’s Trophy.

Ferguson, who scored with a header for the Republic of Ireland Under-21s, did it again recently from a Sam Packham cross.

Albion took the lead as Miller finished after good work from Ferguson and Cam Peupion.

Lewis Walker scored his second goal of the game before Will Wright’s beautiful free kick won it for the League Two team.
