Brighton vs Tottenham: Antonio Conte delivers key message

Tottenham are urged to be more clinical as they go to Amex.

Antonio Conte stressed the need for more scoring threat after they suffered a frustrating Champions League draw in Frankfurt to continue their poor form away in Europe.

Spurs created many opportunities for themselves in Germany, with Harry Kane and Son Heung-min guilty of not making the most of several opens during the Group D game that ended 0-0.

While the Premier League club bounced back with a potentially crucial point after last weekend’s humiliating defeat by rivals Arsenal, they are now seven games without an away win in European competition.

They are now preparing to visit the Amex, a stadium where they have suffered two losses in their last three visits.

Former Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma was left unused on the bench in Frankfurt’s stalemate.

Conte believes his side played well enough as he sent an unchanged XI from the Arsenal game.

He told BT Sport: “The game was a good game.

“I think we played a game with great intensity. We didn’t allow them to play their football and we put a lot of pressure on all areas of the pitch.

“At the same time, we need to be more clinical. We have to be more sober because we created many, many chances to score and in the end we are talking about a draw.

“For me, the most important thing is to create chances.

“Then there are moments where you are more sober with every scoring chance, then there are moments like the Arsenal game and today where you create chances but sometimes you make a mistake on the last pass so you arrive a second later to the ball or you’ll go wide, but it’s important to create chances.

“The game was good for us and we played with a great personality here.

“Then we’ll see (what happens) in a week if we have another game against them.” Brighton vs Tottenham: Antonio Conte delivers key message
