Brighton Wetherspoon Pubs win at the Loo of the Year Awards
Four Wetherspoon pubs have been recognized for their clean toilets at national awards.
The Post and Telegraph on North Street and The West Quay in Brighton Marina Village and The Cliftonville Inn on George Street, Hove, wiped out the competition after being certified platinum by inspectors at the Loo of the Year Awards.
Bright Helm on West Street went gold, losing its platinum rating from last year.
Post & Telegraph manager Matthew Scott said: “We are delighted to receive the award.
The awards aim to highlight and improve the standards of toilet service in Wetherspoon pubs across the UK.
To assess the toilets, the Loo of the Year Awards inspectors made unannounced visits to thousands of toilets at sites across the UK.
All restrooms are rated Silver, Gold, Platinum, Platinum Plus, or Diamond, with unacceptable restrooms not rated at all.
Toilets are judged on a number of criteria, including fitment and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment, and overall management.
Loo of the Year Awards 2022 Managing Director Becky Wall said: “The toilets in the four pubs have been designed and fitted to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.
“The pubs deserve their awards.”
