Aaron Connolly is given a promotion target on his next loan venture.
His new club are keen to regain first place status after being relegated from Serie A last season.
Fans will look to Connolly to score after Venezia changed all but one of the five forwards in their squad.
Tutto Venezia Sport’s Davide Marchiol told The Argus: “Venezia are repairing the team after the mistakes in Serie A that led to relegation.
“The attack had to be completely reconducted and Connolly was identified as a valid element to be included in the department.
“A fifth element is missing, but we’re also counting on Aaron’s growth to find goals and have a good season in Serie B.
“The dream is to go back to Serie A straight away but it’s going to be difficult, there are a lot of big names in Serie B this year.”
In a message shared on social media in both English and Italian, Connolly wrote: “Very happy to have signed for @veneziafc, looking forward to getting started and seeing you all fans at the Pier Luigi Penzo (stadium) hold true.”

Among those set to compete in the 20-team second division are Genoa, Ascoli, Parma, Brescia, Palermo and last season’s longtime leaders Pisa, who eventually missed out on promotion to the play-offs.
