Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister helps Argentina extend run

Alexis Mac Allister will meet up with his new Albion boss at a pinnacle of international action.

The midfielder played the opening 72 minutes of Argentina’s 3-0 friendly win over Jamaica in New Jersey.

The win was sealed by two late goals from Leo Messi as he came off the bench.

Argentina is now unbeaten in 35 games.

Mac Allister has not suffered defeat in any of his seven senior internationals for his country.

He is expected to be included in the final squad, which will play in Qatar in November.

The focus now shifts to the club scene as he meets Roberto De Zerbi at Albion.
