Brighton’s Evan Ferguson scores hat-trick at Leicester

The striker’s goals helped the Seagulls to a 4-1 win at Leicester City in Premier League 2.

They also came at a time when Albion’s centre-forward options are being scrutinized by some fans.

Ferguson combined his opening two goals with fellow countryman Andy Moran.

He rushed home his third right at halftime.

Jack Spong scored Albion’s fourth late goal straight from a free kick.

Ferguson recently impressed with his all-around game in the Carabao Cup win at Forest Green.

He was also on the bench in the Premier League.

Head coach Graham Potter recently spoke enthusiastically of Ferguson – while stressing he will not unduly rush the player’s progress.

After the Forest Green game, Potter said: “He’s 17 years old so I want to be careful with him in terms of his development, but he trains with us every day and never looked out of place.

“The guys know his qualities and attributes so I don’t want to push him, but at the same time we really believe he’s going to have a really great future.”
