Brighton’s Jeremy Sarmiento was injured against Liverpool

Jeremy Sarmito faces even more frustration at London Stadium.

The Ecuador international is sidelined for tomorrow’s trip to West Ham with a minor knee injury.

The problem of him continuing to play for the Under-21s last Sunday also looks set to rule him out of midweek Carabao Cup tie at Forest Green.

Sarmiento made his Premier League debut at West Ham last year but suffered a hamstring injury that ruled him out from much of the campaign.

His current season shouldn’t be put on hold for too long.

Sarmiento went under in the 13th minute in the 21st’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Lancing.

Head coach Graham Potter said yesterday: “He’s okay. Hope it’s just days.

“He felt something in the back of his knee.

“It should be the diagnosis right now by the end of next week.”

Sarmiento was on the bench for the senior team this season and received for the 21st season.

He didn’t appear in great distress after leaving the Liverpool game.

He watched the rest of the game from the technical area, pausing at halftime on his way to the dressing room to chat with his family. Brighton’s Jeremy Sarmiento was injured against Liverpool
