Brighton’s Leandro Trossard comes on for Eden Hazard as Belgium win

Leandro Trossard enjoyed a welcome season as Belgium looked ahead to the World Cup.

He replaced Eden Hazard for his first competitive action since helping the Seagulls beat Leicester almost three weeks ago.

The win keeps Belgium’s hopes alive of catching the Netherlands at the top of their group.

But there are already thoughts about Qatar.

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez said: “It’s the perfect game to prepare for the World Cup.

“This World Cup could be the best in terms of individual performance and mental freshness.”

Belgium was bid farewell by its fans in Brussels ahead of the World Cup.

They will play the group decider against the Dutch on Sunday in Amsterdam.

Trossard will then be clear to return to England and prepare for Albion’s trip to Liverpool.
