NEW research has uncovered the most wanted resident musicians in every UK city.
The Wembley Park study used data from Wikipedia to determine artist views.
It examined Wikipedia pageviews from June 2020 to May 2022 to rank the most popular musicians in each city.
Fatboy Slim is Brighton and Hove’s most searched musician with 1.2 million views.
Praise You DJ, real name Norman Cook, holds the Guinness World Record for most Top 40 hits under different names and has won two Brit Awards.
Next in Brighton’s top ten most searched musicians are Bonobo with 803,987 views and Celeste with 669,454 views.
Passenger was fourth with 572,368 views, followed by ArrDee with 345,400 and Maisie Peters with 308,742 views.
Next came Captain Sensible with 241,105, Maryspender with 152,219, Joe Black with 68,448, and Gwenno Saunders with 48,166.
Pop star Dua Lipa ranks number one nationwide and in London with more than 16 million page views and counting.
The One Kiss singer beat the likes of Elton John with 12 million views, David Bowie with 11.9 million views and Adele with 11.2 million views, all London born and raised.
Liverpool’s most searched artist is John Lennon. Despite his early death in 1980, his musical successes, particularly with the Beatles, continue to influence music and culture to this day.
Manchester’s most wanted artists are the Gibb brothers, three of whom achieved international fame as the Bee Gees.
