Brighton’s Peter James is publishing five more Grace novels

PETER James has announced five more Roy Grace novels to be published – and the next book is already written.

The prolific author, known for his long-running series of Brighton crime thrillers, plans to continue the novels after the release of his 18th story in the Picture You Dead series.

The books, which have been published annually since 2005, are due out until at least 2027, and he has told The Argus that the 19th story is already complete.

Peter said: “I originally had a two-book deal and now I’m planning the next five. It is wonderful!

“My publishers have pushed the boat out. The books really help spread the word about Brighton.”

The success of Roy Grace’s novels has been bolstered in recent months by the success of the books’ adaptations. The detective is now well known to television audiences through John Simm’s character portrayal, and the stories have been successful on stage as well.
