Brighton’s sale of Maupay with Nottingham Forest ‘advanced stage’

NOTTINGHAM FOREST are reportedly approaching the signing of Albion striker Neal Maupay with personal terms still to be agreed.

The French forward is Albion’s joint-leading Premier League goalscorer, having equaled Glenn Murray’s record last season (26).

Despite scoring eight goals last season, the club appear ready to sell him to newly promoted Nottingham Forest.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed a fee of around £15m has been discussed between the two clubs, but so far there has been no agreement on personal terms for Maupay to move to the City Ground, although it is believed that it is an ‘Advanced Level’.

Forest have already signed 15 players this summer, with the likes of Jesse Lingard, Dean Henderson and Taiwo Awoniyi moving to the East Midlands.

Speaking on the Transfer Talk podcast, Sheth said: “Incredible, isn’t it? 15 signings through the door and they’re in advanced talks with Brighton over the potential number 16 – that’s striker Neal Maupay.

“Estimated fee is estimated at £15million. Personal terms have yet to be agreed.”

Albion have already sold Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella for big bucks this summer and Maupay looks likely to be the next to come out the door as Graham Potter reshuffles his squad for the new season. Brighton’s sale of Maupay with Nottingham Forest ‘advanced stage’
