Brilliant iPhone Battery Life Hacks That Instantly Extend Your Charge

IPHONE empty too fast? There are a few simple tricks you can use to extend your device’s battery life.

You can turn to these three essential iPhone hacks when your iPhone is stuck with poor battery life.

Take a look at the health of your iPhone battery

Check if you need a battery change

Go into your Settings app, then scroll down to the Battery section.

Tap on it and then select the Battery Health option.

Note: This will only appear if you are using an iPhone 6 or later and have updated to a software version of iOS 11.3 or later.

Here’s a guide on how to update your iPhone if you’re not sure what that means.

Once you are in the Battery Health section, you will see a few different indicators.

The first is the maximum capacity, listed as a percentage.

This gives you the exact percentage of charge your iPhone battery is holding compared to when it was new.

The second is an assessment of your battery performance, letting you know if your battery is working effectively or not.

For people with battery life issues, the percentage matters.

A battery is considered “worn out” when it is below 80%, which means it’s time to upgrade your battery.

You typically reach this point after 500 full charges — it takes most users less than two years.

If you’re still under warranty, you can request a free battery replacement from the Apple Store. Everyone else has to pay a fee.

Activate the energy saving mode

Power saving mode turns off some power-hungry features on your phone.

Unfortunately, this can mean that some apps, tools, and features on your phone will no longer work — at least temporarily.

“When Battery Saver mode is on, your iPhone lasts longer before you need to charge it, but some features may take longer to update or complete,” Apple explains.

“Also, some tasks may not work until you disable sleep mode or charge your iPhone to 80% or more.”

To turn on battery saver mode, go to Settings > Battery and toggle the switch at the top.

Stop constantly “quitting” your apps.

Constantly closing iPhone apps is a waste of time – and could even damage your phone.

Apple says you shouldn’t bother unless an app is frozen.

“When you see your recent apps, the apps aren’t open, but they’re on standby to help you navigate and multitask,” Apple explained.

Part of the problem is that it’s tempting to think apps are running in your “carousel.”

But they’re actually frozen by your iPhone, so they don’t consume resources while you’re doing other things.

Fully restarting apps after swiping consumes more battery life.

The more you stress your battery, the faster it will degrade over time.

And this app will take longer to restart.

It’s like loading a TV from standby instead of completely restarting the TV.
