Police said yesterday they had arrested a 32-year-old man for allegedly raping a woman at North Goa’s famous Sweet Lake.
The man is accused of raping the woman under the pretext of a massage. He is said to be part of a group offering illegal massages near Arambol beach, local media reported.

The police moved in and arrested the man within an hour of the report, the police said.
The accused previously worked as a school librarian, a senior official said.
They said: “We have contacted the police department concerned to obtain his previous records. He is not currently working as a librarian.”
Both the accused and the woman were taken to a hospital for a medical examination last night.
The man is due to appear in court next Monday.
