The Britain’s Got Talent series has just begun in just over a week, and fans have finally gotten a preview of the 2022 edition.
The ITV talent show, which premieres Sunday, April 16, will feature dog tricks, a magician and even a dinosaur, according to excerpts released today.
Familiar faces are back with Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon once again on the judges’ bench.
Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly also return as hosts, watching from the sidelines as the contestants prepare their belongings on stage, for a coveted spot on the Royal Variety Show.
ITV bosses were forced to cancel the series last year because the Covid pandemic and multiple closures made auditions nearly impossible.
In 2020, the semi-finals and finals have been delayed until the fall and pre-recorded, with Simon Cowell being replaced by Ashley Banjo after the media mogul got into a bad accident in the US.
In the clip, the four judges sing along as a choir tightens their hearts, while the dance groups perform amazing feats – no doubt, hoping to repeat the success of the others. victory over Diversity.
One contestant cried on stage, which we’re sure won’t be the only tear-jerking moment.
There’s also promise to be a bit of fun in the show’s 15th season, when a group seemingly pulls a member off stage with her legs, and a dinosaur costume appears.
The judges joined in the fun, too, as they reached out to press down on each other’s famous whistles.
Comic singer Jon Courtenay was crowned BGT champion in 2020.
Jon beat out another nine, with the Sign Along With Us choir in second and comedian and entertainer Steve Royle in third.
When asked how he felt, Jon stammered: “I tried not to think about it, because I’m really bad at hiding my disappointment.
“For the first time this morning, this sounds really impressive, but I woke up with the idea of a song for the Royal Variety gig.
“I wrote it down and tried not to think of it as a sign, because that would be too much pressure, but… It’s amazing, I really can’t believe it,” he said.
“Thank you, this has changed my life and the life of my family,” he added.
As well as dance crew Diversity, previous winners of BGT include Attraction and Lost Voice Guy.
Britain’s Got Talent returns to ITV at 8pm on Saturday, April 16 and continues on Sunday, April 17, at 7.45pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
