Britain’s Got Talent offers a first look at the new season ahead of its start next week

A first look clip of the upcoming season of Britain’s Got Talent sees the return of plays, shocking stunts and the coveted golden buzzer.

The talent show – with judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams – returns on April 16 after the 2021 ITV series was canceled due to the pandemic.

Filming for series 15 was set to begin early last year, but production was delayed before being pushed back to 2022.

The teaser video sees the return of the show’s diverse acts, including dance troupes, cartwheel artists and singers belting out songs in hopes of impressing the judges.

Host duo Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly can also be seen in the clip as they return to host the show.

In the video, Cowell says, “Two minutes on this show can change your life forever.”

The music mogul, who created the show, missed some of the auditions in February after testing positive for coronavirus.

This came not long after he fell over the handlebars of his electric bike during a ride near his home in west London without a helmet.

The ITV show normally airs from April to July, with the semi-finals and finals being broadcast live.

Difficulties filming amid the pandemic were compounded with acts traveling from across the UK and sometimes overseas to take part in the show.

In the final series of 2020, 2009 winner Diversity performed a Black Lives Matter-inspired routine in which a man in a police uniform knelt on Ashley Banjo and repeated the killing of unarmed black man George Floyd.

The routine, which sparked more than 24,000 complaints at Ofcom, won the must-see moment at the 2021 TV Bafta Awards, which are voted on by the public.

Cowell was also replaced on the judging panel for the finals and semifinals of the final series by Banjo as he recovered from a back injury.

Britain’s Got Talent kicks off April 16 at 8pm and continues on April 17 at 7.35pm on ITV and the ITV Hub. Britain’s Got Talent offers a first look at the new season ahead of its start next week
