Falling leaves can be a costly stumbling block motorist Experts warn that a buildup of dried leaves on your car could result in a expensive bill for your car.
Fallen leaves can get wedged under windshield wipers, and experts warn that a build-up of debris can cause your car’s drain to become blocked.
Managing Director of a British leasing company Select car leasingwarned Mark Tongue that dead leaves can strip paint, clog air vents, damage electrical systems and even create a fire hazard.
He said: “Most motorists are aware of the dangers of falling leaves on the road in autumn. They create a slip hazard, they camouflage potholes and other bumps in the road, and they are a particular enemy of motorcyclists. But what you may not know is that leaves can cause carnage for vehicles in other ways as well.
“Our advice is that you think twice about parking your car under trees for any length of time and you need to defoliate your car as regularly as possible in the fall. It is also important that drivers are aware of the risks in the first place.”
