A British holidaymaker found his car flooded with seawater after accidentally parking in a port.

The tourist struggled to find parking as he drove down the slipway and into Borth Y Gest harbor in Gwynedd, Wales.

He chose to park wherever he could and left the car in the port just before high tide around 1pm on Saturday.

But he lived to regret his decision when he returned to find the port had filled with seawater and his vehicle was submerged.

“Unfortunately, he hadn’t heard that both time and the tide wait for no one,” said one viewer North Wales Live.

In Porthmadog on the north coast of Wales it can be difficult to find parking in the summer.

Against the advice of local residents, he had decided to park in the port

Locals had warned the motorist against parking in the port, but he ignored their advice, unaware that the seawater would pour in at high tide.

Crowds gathered to watch as the car was surrounded by water and boats bobbing on the sea water.

Within 15 minutes, the people carrier was engulfed by water.

The car was eventually saved thanks to a local tractor driver who towed the tourist’s vehicle out of the bay.
