Britney Spears’ aunt has spoken out about the pop star’s good news after she confirmed she’s expecting a baby.
Leigh Ann Spears is speaking to US reporter Good Morning Britain live from her home in Nashville, just hours after Britney shared her happy news via Instagram.
The 40-year-old singer told her 40.5 million followers that she is pregnant with her third child after enjoying a holiday with partner Sam Asghari.
Speaking to Noel Phillips, Leigh Ann said: “It’s a happy ending. Going through the darkest days and feeling alone and manipulated by your family, then suddenly, here you are, living the dream that you pay for all the same.
“Wonderful fiance, amazing supporter that he, the new born baby, can’t wait to get excited about,” continued Leigh Ann.
Referring to the fact that Britney was finally released from 13-year conservatorship last year, Leigh Ann said her niece is doing a lot to empower other survivors.
“She’s still fighting, she’s not going to be shut down,” Leigh Ann said.
“She’ll make sure her voice is loud, like most survivors who’ve survived something like that.
“She’s empowering women and men who have been put in situations they have no control over,” added Leigh Ann.
However, Britney’s aunt has remained silent about whether Britney and Sam actually married in secret recently.
The Baby One More Time hitmaker called Sam her “husband” in her baby announcement post, and many fans thought they said “I do”.
Good Morning Britain airs at 6am weekdays on ITV and ITV Hub.
