Britney Spears’ father says he loves her and the situation is terrible

Britney Spears’ father said the situation with his daughter was “horrific” and that he “still loves” her after their legal battle.

He, the 41-year-old singer, has fought to end a complicated legal agreement she was forced to follow in 2008, which gave her father Jamie control of her freedom and finances.

Her conservatorship ends after 13 years in November 2021 when a judge in Los Angeles terminated the agreement – which is usually reserved for the elderly or seriously ill.

Jamie Spears told The Sun on Sunday: “I love my daughter with all my heart and soul.

“This situation between us is terrible.”

In June of this year, Spears married her longtime partner Sam Asghari at her home in Los Angeles in a ceremony attended by celebrity guests such as Madonna, Donatella Versace, Paris Hilton, Selena Gomez and Drew Barrymore.

Spears wore an off-the-shoulder wedding gown custom-made by Versace.

In August, the pop star and Sir Elton John collaborated on the track Hold Me Closer on her first new track in six years.

The song peaked at number three in the UK chart, combining Sir Elton’s 1971 hit Tiny Dancer with his 1992 song The One, while parts of Don’t Go Breaking My Heart from 1976 also included in the song.

Sir Elton has previously said he wanted the partnership to “enlighten people” that Spears was “one of the world’s great pop stars”.
