Australia is not normally a budget-friendly destination for Brits, but from next month holidaymakers could be able to get return flights for as little as £10.
The country has kept its borders tightly closed during the pandemic but reopened to visitors earlier this year and the cheap flights are being offered to boost tourism numbers.
Basically, it’s an ideal opportunity for those hoping to tick Australia’s incredibly beautiful places from the bucket list.
The South Australian Tourism Commission is reviving a ‘Ten Pound Pom’ scheme from 40 years ago when Brits were offered £10 flights to move to Australia. This time, however, you don’t have to commit to such a big life change; Instead, the cheap flights are offered to young Brits who want to travel on a working holiday visa.

This visa allows people aged 18-30 to enjoy extended holidays in Australia and work in the country to fund their travel.
The cheap £10 return tickets will go on sale in May, but those wishing to take advantage of the offer will need to register beforehand southaustralia.com.
There will be a total of 200 return flights up for grabs with Trailfinders flying to Adelaide on Qatar Airways.
Applicants must be UK citizens and have proof of a working holiday visa with travel taking place before 30 September 2022.
The South Australian Tourism Commission adds: “A starter pack with some accommodation on arrival and access to a tax number and bank account etc must also be purchased with the £10 Trailfinders tariff. The majority of working holiday visas are being processed quickly, so for those who don’t currently have one there is a window to apply before the £10 tickets go on sale in May.
It is hoped that the program will help not only encourage young travelers to visit Australia, but also help “close the employment gap and skills shortages that have hit the Australian economy during the pandemic”.
