Broadway show canceled after Sarah Jessica Parker tests positive for Covid

The Broadway show Plaza Suite has been canceled after leading actress Sarah Jessica Parker tested positive for Covid-19.
This follows Wednesday’s announcement that her husband and co-star in the play Matthew Broderick, 60, has tested positive and would miss the upcoming performance.
However, the 57-year-old Sex And The City actress tested negative for the virus at the time, allowing her to appear opposite her husband’s proxy, Michael McGrath, that night.
In a statement posted to Twitter, the show’s producers apologized for the “inconvenience this has caused viewers” and said updates on future performances would be announced as soon as possible.
They added that “everyone wishes Matthew and Sarah Jessica a speedy recovery.”
Broderick, best known for starring in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, was scheduled to return to the Broadway show on April 15. It is not yet known when the couple will return to the show.
Tony Award-winner John Benjamin Hickey will direct the staging of Pulitzer Prize-winner Neil Simon’s classic play.
It began on February 25 with a limited run at the Hudson Theater in New York.
