Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes was involved in a car accident on Monday morning.
The 27-year-old and other occupants in the vehicle are not believed to have suffered any serious injuries, although this remains unconfirmed. It is unclear how serious the accident was and how badly the Porsche he was driving was damaged.
Fernandes is expected to train at Carrington on Monday. United face bitter rivals Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday evening. It’s not clear if the Portugal playmaker will play against Jurgen Klopp First League title hunter.
Interim manager Ralf Rangnick will address the press on Monday afternoon and is then expected to give an update on Fernandes.
Fernandes has been a key player for United since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, scoring 49 goals in 120 appearances in all competitions. He won four Premier League Player of the Month awards in 2020 alone, becoming the first player to achieve the feat in a calendar year.
Fernandes recently signed a new long-term deal at Old Trafford, underscoring his importance to the team. He is a Portugal international with 42 caps who helped his team win the 2019 Nations League.
United are currently fifth in the Premier League, three points adrift Tottenham in the fourth. They have six league games left this season against Liverpool. arsenal, Chelseabrentford, Brighton and crystal palace.
