Wolverhampton Wanderers Boss Bruno Lage has once again taken a tough stance on the future Ruben Neve as Manchester United and arsenal be further linked.
There have long been rumors that the Portuguese midfielder is under consideration by the Red Devils and Gunners after hugely impressing from Portuguese giants Porto during his stint at Molineux since a move in 2017.
That interest is expected to last through the summer transfer window, and with just over two years left on his current deal at the Black Country. wolves might make a decision to change his status if they can’t convince him to make a new deal.
However, head coach Lage has insisted no offers have been made for his services and suggested Neves is one of the players he wants to keep at the club in light of a £100m price tag.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s clash Brighton, He said: “We have to wait for an offer, we have nothing, we have to wait for an offer and understand what’s really going to happen. What’s good for the club is good for the player.”
“It’s clear to me that if I want to work with Ruben, yes. If you ask the player if he would like to work for me, he will surely say yes. But this is football and you never know what can happen the next day.

“We can prepare the best strategy for what we want, these are the best players on the pitch. I have no problem with anyone in this position, but if I have everyone available I will choose Ruben.
“It’s clear because I’ve been doing this since day one. He can give us another dimension. He’s a great player and our first choice for this position.” He added: “We have to be prepared for anything. A player like Ruben Neves is worth £100m. Anything can happen, not just with Ruben.”
Lage’s recent comments are not the first time he has commented on his compatriot’s future. He suggested earlier this month that any interested clubs would have to shell out a significant sum of money to secure Neves’ services.
The ex-Benfica man said: “What he’s doing this season is very good. I also think the way we play, he can show a better Ruben and also the way he plays takes our team to another level.
“If you have this player, the best thing to do is improve his salary and contract years. But who knows, when you have a top player like him in that particular position, who can defend and attack and is a top professional and a great man, the big £100m teams are there to support those types of players to buy.
Neves, a 26-cap cap, has made 31 appearances for Wolves in all competitions so far this season. However, he has missed the last three games due to a knee injury.
