BT Mail ‘down’ as mysterious outage prevents people from sending emails

BT Mail has been hit by an outage affecting users across the UK when they sign up for their morning email.

There was a surge of people reporting problems just before 9am.

Customers have flocked to Twitter to try and understand what’s going on.

Users are apparently greeted with an error message when trying to log in.

“Something went wrong, please try again,” the message said.

“Email not working, ‘something went wrong’ repeatedly,” one person tweeted.

“When I try to log in to my E-mail An error has occurred using the browser,” added another.

It’s not clear how widespread the issue is, but it was enough to trigger an alert down detector Website looking out for a flood of people complaining about problems with a variety of online services.
