Fast food giant Burger King has announced the opening of its first vegan restaurant, which will run for a month as a ‘pilot’ – with a brand new menu

For years, non-meat eaters have been unable to enjoy fast food as much as others, with menus lacking vegetarian and vegan options.

But all that is about to change because from next week, Burger King will open its first fully vegan restaurant.

Located inside their flagship Leicester Square branch in London, the meat-free restaurant will launch on March 14 for a month as a pilot takeover.

Along with vegan versions of Burger King Classics like the plant-based Whopper and the Vegan Royale, diners will also be able to enjoy an exclusive menu featuring over 15 ‘groundbreaking’ new dishes.

First in fast food, ‘Cheeeze & Bakon’ hamburgers is set to be the crowning glory of the new menu, with plant-based Bakon Double Cheeeze XL and Vegan Cheeeze & Bakon Royale on offer.

These will replace their meat equivalents Bacon Double XL and Chicken Royale Bacon & Cheese.

Other options at the meat-free restaurant include the Vegan Nugget Burger, the plant-based Double Cheeezeburger, the plant-based Cheeeze & Bakon Whopper, as well as side dishes like the Vegan Chilli Cheeeze Bites.

The new restaurant will also feature a limited time range of plant-based and vegan Katsu dishes.

And in another first of its kind, Burger King also announced a meat-free kids menu.

The fast-food chain has even said it will keep an eye on the most popular items on the menu, with the goal of making some of them available nationwide in the future.

Burger King hopes its new products will offer a “wider and better” choice for vegans, vegetarians, flexitarians and meat eaters, after years of development with the Association. vegan to ensure the meat-free menu matches the same flame-grilled flavors of its meaty counterparts.
