According to reports, BURNLEY is considering a move to buy former Newcastle star Andy Carroll.
Carroll, 33, left Toon last summer and spent four months as a free agent before signing with Reading.
He joined the Royals on a £1000-a-week deal but his contract expires this month.
That could lead to Burnley picking up Carroll for free – giving him a chance to return to the Premier League, report Letters.
The former England striker has proven his fitness in the Championship and is not injured.
And he has impressed at Madejski – even though he has scored just one goal in seven games, albeit for a struggling Reading team.
In the club’s 7-0 loss to Fulham on Tuesday Carroll scores with two incredible goals.
One was an overhead kick and the other was a 25-man volley after he sent the ball to his chest – but both were ruled out for offside.

But Sean Dyche may have noticed and Carroll’s height and physique make him a similar replacement for Chris Wood.
The striker left Turf Moor this week to join Newcastle after the Magpies triggered his £25m release fee.
However, Carroll has a rough history with Burnley.
He had been kicked out of the Clarets on a previous visit and Dyche wants him to receive the same punishment after he lunged at Ben Mee with his forearm during a match in 2019.
But Carroll felt Mee was doing exactly the same thing and continued to be upset after the game.
He said, “He’s jumping for the elbow, I’m jumping for the elbow.
“It’s exactly the same on both ends but every game is always me, always me.
“Fabian Schar went there with a bump on his head, bruises all over the place and somehow did nothing. It was a real disgrace.
“Let’s face it, it’s a disgusting game. The weather was terrible, the referee made decisions against us.
“It’s hard to stay calm in those situations, it’s really hard. There are decisions they have that we don’t get and it’s frustrating. “
