Busy Philipps announces separation from husband Marc Silverstein after 14 years of marriage

Busy Phillipps and Marc Silverstein – who share two children – kept their split a secret until they figured out how to tell the public

Busy Phillipps revealed she and husband Marc Silverstein have split after 14 years of marriage.

The 42-year-old actress has two children with Marc and says it’s been ‘a long time’ since they separated.

Talk about her Busy Phillipps doing her best is doing her best podcast, the Dawsons Creek star said: “It’s been a long time Marc and I lived apart and our kids know, our family knows, our friends know.”

The two broke up for the first time in February 2021 and spent some time thinking about how to share the news publicly.

“Marc and I talked about it, and when we first broke up, we couldn’t even think about making one of those statements – it made us sick, we both really It’s been a journey,” Busy explained.

“The surest way that Marc and I can ensure the privacy of the children we hold dear is by not involving the public.”

Busy talking to the audience both still have love and respect for each other.

“Well, we love each other – so much!” she speaks.

“And we have beautiful kids together. And there’s a lot of things that really work about our relationship.”

The couple married in 2007 and welcomed Birdie a year later. Their second child, Cricket, was welcomed in 2013.

Previously, Busy discussed her marriage to Harper’s Bazaar and said that there was a time when she nearly divorced him.

The actress explained that it was due to problems with their parenting duties.

She said: “Marc said, ‘I’ll do anything.’ And I said, “Okay, then do everything. Because I did it all, all by myself, and I’m done, man.”

“I was completely out the door, I didn’t expect anything from him, but in the end what we did was create our own system.”

In her book, This Will Only Hurt A Little, she also confesses that the two almost broke up after she had ‘a relationship’ with another father.

Their marriage was troubled when their first child was born, forcing her to seek support from someone else.

“Honestly, I have a crush on him. I like him. Maybe I even love him? He obviously likes me too,” she admitted in 2018.
