Call for identification of young women after shoplifting in Hove

POLICE are asking for help in identifying a group of young women they want to speak to in connection with the theft of cigarettes and other items from a shop.

The officer said items were stolen from Tesco Express in Denmark Villas, Hove, around 7.25pm ​​on July 18.

Hundreds of pounds worth of cigarettes and other items were stolen.

A young woman was seen behind the counter taking items. She was white with dark braids and wore a dark top and shorts with sunglasses.

A second young woman entered the store and also went behind the counter to pick up items. She was white with brown hair and wore a leopard print jacket and black vest top with sunglasses.

Police said a third young woman took items from the shelves. She was white with dark hair and wore a gray hooded Puma top and sunglasses.

A fourth young woman also took items from shelves. She was white with blonde or light brown hair and wore a black top and shorts with fluffy flip flops.

Police have released CCTV images of people they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

Officials believe there may be links to a theft at the Co-op store in Field Place Parade, Goring, at 5.45pm on June 14, when two girls were seen entering the store, taking items from the shelves and then left without paying.

One girl was white and had her hair tied back. She wore a black jacket, white top, blue jeans and white sneakers.

The second girl was white or mixed race. She wore a black coat with a fur-lined hood, a white T-shirt, black shorts or a short black skirt, and dark shoes.

Anyone who can identify or recognize her is asked to contact Sussex Police online or call 101 and quote serial number 215 dated 07/18.
