Call for information following the theft of a woman’s e-bike in Bexhill

A WOMAN’s electric bike was stolen by two men while she was riding it.

Police are appealing for information following the theft at around 4pm on Monday 11 July on the Galley Hill cycle path, Bexhill.

The woman was cycling from Bexhill towards St Leonards when she was approached by two men near the Ravenside Retail Park beach huts.

A man left his own bike and took the electric one. Both men then rode away with it.

The bike stolen was a Scott electric bike in dark matte camo green with cream tires.

The Argos:

The first man is white, slim, late teens or early 20s, with short dark hair. He was wearing a white shirt and had a bag over his shoulder.

The second is also white, about 5’7″, slim build, late teens or early 20s. He was dressed all in black and had acne around his chin.

Detective Constable Annie McGarvey said: “This would have been a frightening incident for the victim who was casually going about their day before their electric bike was stolen.

“Although this is an isolated case I would urge cyclists to visit to take precautions to protect their bike from theft which can be found on our website.”
