Call of Duty introduces Snoop Dogg as a playable character in time for 420

Well, that’s something I never really expected, but Call of Duty is no stranger to popping up seemingly random household names. See: Lewis Hamilton, Fidel Castro and Jeff Goldblum. From April 19th we now have plenty of time for the musicians’ favorite holiday Snoop Dogg itself as operator in both vanguard and war zone.

This isn’t Snoop’s first rodeo with Call of Duty; The musician has also been the multiplayer announcer in some Call of Duty: Ghosts DLCs and is no stranger to regularly streaming video games on his Twitch channel. However, he is quite prone to getting distracted.

Announced in an official blog post – which almost sounds like it’s carried Snoop Dogg’s entire career up to this moment – players can purchase the Tracer Pack: Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle for 2,400 COD Points.

It works just like any other operator in Call of Duty, with its own progression path and four challenges. These also grant the ability to unlock various rewards, including fresh outfits, operator quips uttered by the man himself, and some unique weapons.

I say unique because how many guns in Call of Duty shoot Green Weed Tracer rounds? These weapons also have appropriate names: we have a sniper rifle called the Bong Ripper, an assault rifle called the West Coast Bling, and an SMG called the Tha Shiznit.

Even without a full history of Snoop Dogg, most will know that the owner of Death Row Records is the musician who died after the release of Dr. Dres The Chronic became famous in 1992. He continues to be one of the biggest names in hip-hop. while also maintaining a reputation as a notorious stoner. It’s no surprise, then, to see how closely the Doggfather’s smoking habits have been modeled for this pack.

This is only further referenced by looking at Snoop Dogg’s biography as an operator. He is part of Task Force 420, his hobbies are “listening to K-Pop, smoking, painting”. While he is primarily known as a musician and media personality, for whatever reason he is now committed to fighting as a Call of Duty operator.

Somehow I think that joining FaZe Clan might have led to Snoop. What do you think of the newest Call of Duty operator? Call of Duty introduces Snoop Dogg as a playable character in time for 420
