Each 6v6 map has its own strengths and weaknesses, and more will be added in the future.

Here are all of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 maps, ranked to help you get started with multiplayer.

1. Breenbergh Hotel: Map of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

The Breenbergh Hotel’s open roof allows for aerial killstreaks, while there are plenty of enclosed spaces for those who like close-ranged combat.

Once you figure out all the ways in and out of rooms, you can easily guard targets, making it a solid choice to play with.

2. Farm 18: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

Although it’s called a farm, it’s more like a factory with a large central building with an open roof.

There are two long sightlines running along the length of the building with good opportunities for combat encounters at the edge of the map.

Farm 18 has many locations that offer interesting encounters, including sniper sight lines and up-close shotgun ambushes.

3. Mercado Las Almas: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

This is suitable for all kinds of objective-based game modes due to its small size.

The long alley in the middle which is perfect for those who play as snipers. Smart players, however, stick to the edges where there are enough buildings to deploy.

4. Message: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Map

With the two large parking lots on either side of the buildings in the middle, this is the perfect map for Domination.

Both buildings have two floors with a balcony for snipers and narrow corridors for shotgun users.

There are also multiple paths of movement, making it a great choice no matter what weapon you’re using.

5. Zarqwa Hydroelectric: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

This allows players to use the CoD: MW2 swimming mechanic and there are three lanes to choose from with a base on each side.

You can cross the lanes via underground waterways, although sticking your head up to see what’s going on isn’t always the wisest choice.

6. El Asilo: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

The central building here will be where most of the conflict will take place, but this map has other advantages as well.

One side is often neglected, making it the perfect place for a sniper to base themselves.

This could be a standout card if the sides were shaved, but right now it feels like there’s just too much dead space.

7. Crown Raceway: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

This one is fine, but it’s a bit too big for great 6v6 matches.

Zooming engines distract enemies and long sightlines let snipers shine. Outbuildings and corridors can also be used for melee combat.

Players can be zipped through fairly quickly despite the size of the map, so you won’t have to wait too long to shoot.

8. Santa Seña Border Crossing: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

The border crossing is a part of the Santa Seña map whose street is blocked by cars.

It’s tightly packed, meaning there aren’t great spots for sniping, and those who prefer that position will really struggle here.

The two ends are also almost always empty, leading to annoying waste of space.

9. Al Bagra Fortress: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 map

This one gets messy quickly; With a multi-layered center, it’s difficult to tell which direction enemies are moving.

It’s small and dense, meaning there’s no room for snipers, and melee combat feels exceptionally chaotic.

It’s quieter in objective-based games, but it’s still difficult to strategize with your team.

10. Taraq: Modern Warfare 2 map

Taraq has the opposite problem of being way too big and not having enough to keep you interested.

They are mostly small broken buildings as you have to hide in rubble to prevent the snipers always perching on every roof.

Taraq restricts the types of weapons that are viable, making it a difficult map to enjoy playing on.
