Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 online multiplayer will be undergoing open beta testing prior to launch.

This gives players an opportunity to try out the mode early and provide feedback for the final release.

When the open beta will take place has been speculated by the community and EA has let us know exactly when it will take place

The predictions were correct that the beta test would take place later this year, since in previous years it was held in early September.

This year, the beta test will take place from mid to late September, with the exact dates depending on which platform you’re playing on and whether you’ve pre-ordered or not.

The open beta dates are as follows:

September 16th and 17th: Beta for pre-orders on PS4 and PS5.

September 18th, 19th and 20th: Beta opening for all users on PS4 and PS5.

September 22nd and 23rd: Beta for pre-orders on all platforms and open beta for PS4 and PS5.

September 24th, 25th and 26th: Beta opening for users on all platforms.

All beta tests open at 6pm UK time on the first day of each test.

As you can see, there is a big difference in the number of days you can play Call of Duty multiplayer before its release.

Those pre-ordering for a PlayStation console can play for up to ten days, while those not pre-ordering and playing on another platform only have three days to play.

There are many ways you can access the upcoming beta test which can be found at the link above.

EA also claims that more code retrieval methods will be revealed soon.

A September 15 showcase titled Call of Duty: Next will provide fans with information about the future of the series.
