Call of Duty: Warzone’s new anti-cheat measure gives players a ‘damage shield’ to fend off cheaters
Cheating has been a big problem in Call of Duty: Warzonebut a new anti-cheat measure will now give non-cheat players a “Damage Shield” to prevent new players from doing serious damage to them.
In a new Blogs, The team behind Call of Duty: Warzone has shared details of upcoming new updates to the RICOCHET Anti-Cheat system “which relies on data to identify fraud and make our banwaves impactful.” than.” One of these new features is called Damage Shield, and it’s an in-game way to not only prevent cheaters from winning matches or killing players, but also to learn more about cheaters. and prevent them from re-offending.
“One mitigation technique we’ve tested is what we call Damage Shield,” the blog reads. “When the server detects a cheater is tampering with the game in real time, it disables the cheater’s ability to severely damage other players. This mitigation makes the cheater vulnerable. vulnerable to attacks by real players and allows #TeamRICOCHET to gather information about cheaters’ systems.
“We monitor these encounters to make sure there’s no chance the game will apply Damage Shield randomly or randomly, regardless of skill level. To be clear, we will never interfere with battles. gunfights between members of the law-abiding community. Damage Shield is currently tested and deployed globally.”
There are other mitigations in the implementation, but the team is not yet ready to reveal them as they don’t want to “ruin the surprise” for unsuspecting cheaters.
It was also informed that “serious or repeated violations of the privacy policy – such as cheating in a game – may result in the permanent suspension of all accounts.” While this was previously only applicable to Call of Duty: Vanguard, cheaters will now be banned in modern and future Call of Duty titles.
Furthermore, any attempt to “conceal, disguise, or obfuscate your identity or the identity of your hardware devices may also result in permanent suspension.”
All these changes will certainly be welcomed, especially Activision is gearing up to release both Warzone 2 and the 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare sequel this year.
