CANELO ALVAREZ’S coach urges Anthony Joshua to utilize his physicality and ‘better mix’ in his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.
AJ was beaten 12 rounds by Usyk in September, but raised eyebrows when he chose try southpaw proficient inbox.
Since losing, Joshua has spent a few months re-evaluate his coaching staff with rumors he is looking for a new coach.
He then spends time with Canelo and Mexican carer Eddy Reynoso in their adoption US training base in San Diego in October.
Reynoso, who speaks no English, later revealed his approach to leading Joshua, 32, into a rematch against Usyk, 34, this year.
And the trainer had a blueprint calculated for 6ft 6in and 17b 2lb AJ.
Reynoso said to Fight Hub TV: “Work his distance more, combine better.
“He has a lot of good traits, good physicality, but he doesn’t take advantage of them.”

beReynoso has guided 31-year-old Canelo to world titles in four and most recently undisputed glory in the super-middle class.
And his impressive lineup of players also includes heavyweight Andy Ruiz Jr, 32, lightweight Ryan Garcia, 23, and superweight champion Oscar Valdez, 31.
Joshua has won Olympic gold medals and unified world championship titles professionally under head coach Rob McCracken.
But ahead of the must-win rematch with Usyk, AJ promoter Eddie Hearn admits that now could be the time for a change, amid negotiations with Canelo’s team.
Reynoso said: “I enjoyed working with Joshua, why not? My job is to train boxers and I’ll see if I can make it work.
“It’s a question of the timing of the next fight. We’ve talked to Eddie Hearn and Joshua’s manager and we’ll see what happens.”
