Car crashes into house wall in Worthing

A ROAD is closed after a car hit the side of a house.

The accident happened around 11am on Palatine Road, Worthing.

The car removed a window from the house and the wall was destroyed.

Hydraulic equipment was used to free two people from the car.

All emergency services were on site when the road was closed.

A spokeswoman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Services said: “At 10.44am we were called to a traffic accident on Palatine Road, Worthing.

“Joint Fire Control dispatched two fire engines from Worthing and Littlehampton to the scene and a heavy ambulance from Worthing.

“Firefighters rescued two injured people from the vehicle using hydraulic rescue equipment before exiting the scene at around 11:20 a.m.

“South East Coast Ambulance and Sussex Police were also present.”
