However, opening the case before Judge Kenneth Connolly today, Niall Flynn BL said for Mr Kane that his client would plead guilty to four counts in court.
They involved three cases of dealing with stolen property, namely a New Holland TM155 tractor, a John Deere 6220 tractor and a UK registered Toyota Hilux jeep.
Three of the four offenses occurred in Rathcronan, Granard, Co. Longford between January and April 2018, while the fraud charges were filed between January 1, 2018 and February 1, 2018 at a location within the state.
Judge Connolly was told that Mr. Kane entered the pleas on the first three counts on the basis of recklessness.
Mr. Kane also pleaded guilty to making gains or causing losses through deception that led a person to buy a stolen John Deere 6620 tractor for €25,000.
The defendant, wearing a blue hoodie and matching blue pants, stood silently in the courtroom after pleading guilty to each of the charges.
Mr Flynn said he would be making an application at that time for parole reports or similar assessments to be carried out on his client.
However, he asked for the case to be adjourned to allow for the presentation of a “significant mitigation” in a “complex investigation”.
Judge Connolly granted that motion and ordered Mr. Kane back on bail at a May 9 session of the Longford Circuit Criminal Court.
