Two officers from the Cheshire Constabulary were patrolling the country roads and stopped several drivers when they came across the motorist.

Along with the fraudulent license, they were also found to be driving without insurance.

Summons have been issued and further investigations will be made into the driver’s insurance.

Driving alone with a temporary license is illegal.

Without a full license, you can only drive with an L license plate and have a qualified driver present to supervise you.

On Twitter, the Cheshire Police Rural Crime Squad said: “Tonight I was on patrol with PCSO Stevens who covered the Penketh and Cuerdley Police areas Burtonwood and Winwick Police to jointly target #RuralCrime #WildlifeCrime #Heritagecrime and #Wastecrime.

“One of the stopped vehicles discovered that the driver had only a temporary license and had been driving this vehicle since 1993!

“In the area, we are also focusing on #RuralRoads with many vehicles stopped.

“As a result, the driver was subpoenaed for driving without a full license and without insurance.

“Further investigation will also be carried out around the vehicle insurance being voided and the incorrect details being passed on to the insurer.”
