Carabao Cup 2022/23 draw: When is the second round draw and how can I watch?


The draw for the second round of the 2022/23 Carabao Cup takes place on Wednesday night, when a number of Premier League sides get into the fray and learn who they will face when they begin their hunt for silverware.

The first round sees clubs from Championship, League One and League Two going head-to-head – with most of those clashes taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, although third-tier Cambridge stunned higher-tier opponents in the form of Millwall to a 1-1. 0 win in the opening match of this year’s competition last week.

However, the 13 Premier League clubs not involved in European competitions this season enter the second round as they begin their journey to succeed Liverpool as Carabao Cup champions after the Reds defeated Chelsea after a 0-0 Draw 11-10 on penalties defeated final in February.

The second round draw remains regionalized before the remaining top clubs enter the third round and the road to Wembley kicks into even higher gear.

When is the draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup?

The draw will take place following the conclusion of the Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland first round match (7:45pm KO) on Wednesday 10th August. Assuming there is no penalty shoot-out, the draw is expected to start between 21.45 and 22.00.

How can I follow the draw?

The draw will take place live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football after they covered Sheffield Wednesday v Sunderland. Sky’s Carabao Cup presenter Mark Chapman will moderate the draw, with former Owls forward Clinton Morrison and former Sunderland player Michael Gray picking the ties.
