Carl Woods said they had a ‘screaming match in the street’ that night before he was arrested
Carl Woods has claimed he found “suspicious messages” on his fiancée Katie Price’s phone before he was arrested in August.
On Thursday night, Essex Police confirmed the former Love Island star, 33, had been charged under section 4 of the Public Order Act.
Carl has previously claimed to be a “victim of lies” and took to Instagram to claim: “I found some very questionable messages on Katie’s phone.”
He added: “The attack, the control, the bruises are really made up, everything, this is done to beat me up and create a plot.
“There’s no charge for any attack or control because like I said it’s b******s.”
He added: “I was f*****. Nobody else. Now I really won’t comment on it again.”
In a statement, police told The Mirror: “A man arrested following an incident in Little Canfield, on 23 August 2021, has been charged.
“Carl Woods, 33, of The Meadows, Dunmow Road, Little Canfield, has been charged under Section 4 of the Public Order Act.
“He will appear at Colchester Magistrates Court on March 10.”
Carl had previously been hit by messages from people accusing him of hitting Katie and he hit back on social media.
He told fans he “really doesn’t want to talk about this” but is fed up with trolls attacking him.
“You guys really are all barbarians and now some how, I’m accused of being involved and part of this little game,” he said.
“I wasn’t allowed to talk about it until now. And I’m not blamed for it or involved.”
Last week, Carl criticized people accusing him of hitting Katie.
He began a lengthy statement on his Instagram story by writing: “Now it’s my turn, everything I say I have proof of.”
He went on to stress that his allegation has nothing to do with an allegation of assaulting Katie last year.
Carl said in a video on his Instagram story with 227,000 followers: “So all the people who messaged me saying, ‘Oh, you attacked Katie, you did this, the truth was. exposed’ – no, the truth has yet to be made public. It’s not at all.”
He added: “Look at what’s written, there’s nowhere that says I’ve been accused of assaulting Katie, they haven’t said that. No one has said I’ve been accused of coerced controlling behaviour, no whoever said it,” cause it’s not true, it didn’t happen. “
Continuing to claim he had proof, he continued: “I didn’t put my finger on her, yes, never forcefully control her, whoever thinks you can control Katie. Wish you could. must get out of your head”. you can’t, right. “
Claiming that he has “evidence” to back up all he is saying, he continued: “There are so many things that I have completely covered up to me and proved that I completely and completely innocent, so it will come – real, black-and-white, irrefutable, okay, indisputable evidence.”
As he spoke in front of the camera, Katie could hear Katie saying from behind the camera: “You never did anything to me.”
She also exclaims: “I never called the police on you, nothing, ever.”
