Carol Vorderman helped a pedestrian in difficulty after the man accidentally locked the keys in his car while hiking in the Brecon Beacons
Carol Vorderman turned into a wonderful woman this weekend after coming to the aid of a sick man on a hike in the mountains.
The former Countdown star, 61, helped out the man after he accidentally locked the keys in his car during Brecon Beacons fun.
Tyrone Coburn took to Facebook to thank the maths as she shared a moment of his relief beside her after getting back into his car.
He wrote: “I locked the keys in my car today after wearing my boots in Brecon.
“AA phones had no signal and this nice lady CAROL VORDERMAN came to my rescue and took me to the nearest village so I could call them, what a lovely woman she is.
Carol re-shared her gratitude post with her 218k Instagram followers.
She captioned the screenshot: “Awwwww. I was wandering around the Beacons yesterday and chatting with a former teacher who is managing one of the parking lots for @breconbeacons.
“Then Tyrone and two of his friends came and said he had locked the keys in his car. The problem was that he would have to climb back up a mountain to get the signal to ring the AA bell or walk. 5 miles to the nearest village .. ..
“Uh hello…it’s time to take the elevator.”
She continued: “He made me laugh because we were chatting in the car and it was only when I took off my outerwear that he recognized me.
Two fears at once. Saw it’s an old number bird on the phone and that’s her with no makeup on!!!! “
And she concludes by saying that she is glad he got home safely and is glad to have helped.
She received a number of likes and comments on the post, including from former Steps star Ian ‘H’ Watkins, who wrote: “Not all are heroes. [sic] wear a robe.”
Another follower commented: “Humble & very kind thing.”
And a third said: “Play fair Carol… a lovely gesture from you for someone in need…”
Last month, Carol paid a sweet tribute to her mother ahead of Mother’s Day.
Carol’s mother passed away in 2017 and 5 years after the day she took to Twitter to write: “Mother’s Day 2017. Mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer a week before.
“So I’ve got a nice room at @ivycliftonbrass for all of us to celebrate her. Mom has lived with me and worked for me since the 1980s. It’s always been with us 24/7. Mom died 2 months after this photo.”
