Catalyst stolen from parked car in Newhaven

Police are appealing for witnesses after a catalytic converter was stolen from a parked car.

The theft occurred between 1pm on Monday 5th December and 10am on Tuesday 6th December at Western Road, Newhaven.

The owner of the green Honda Civic parked it around 1 p.m. Monday and returned to find the catalytic converter removed at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Officials would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Any relevant information can be reported to Sussex Police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Rhodium.

Sussex Police say people can ask their car dealers for locks or guards on their vehicle.

The force says people should try to keep their vehicle in a garage or a well-lit area.

People can also mark their catalyst with a forensic marker to deter thieves.
