DEVELOPER CD Projekt Red has announced a number of upcoming games, including five additions to the Witcher series.
This huge number of announcements were made today, including a new Witcher trilogy and game and expansion that promise to double the size of Cyberpunk 2077’s world.
Two new games in the Witcher universe are being developed by studios outside of CD Projekt Red.
Codenamed Sirius, the game is being developed with the help of CDPR and will feature multiplayer alongside the mainline single-player quests.
Canis Majoris is a “full-fledged” Witcher game, separate from the previously announced new CDPR saga, and developed with the help of former CDPR members.
CDPR also clarified that this previously announced game is being developed into an all-new Witcher trilogy.
There will be a new protagonist who fans believe will be series favorite Ciri.
The new announcement revealed that the upcoming trilogy will also come from the RPG genre.
Cyberpunk 2077 is also getting a major update, currently codenamed Project Liberty.
In addition, a new game is in development to turn Cyberpunk 2077 into a series.
It’s codenamed Orion, but few details of the project have been shared other than the fact that it will expand the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
Finally, a whole new IP has been announced, currently codenamed Hadar.
Hadar isn’t even in pre-production yet and is more of an idea for CDPR to build upon.
With this plan, the company hopes to release and develop three separate franchises to keep the studio thriving.
Aside from Sirius, CDPR also stated that it hopes to add more multiplayer to its games in the future.
That could mean that Orion and Hadar are also being developed with multiplayer in mind.
