Celebrities help launch Action For Children’s Secret Santa charity campaign

Dame Arlene Phillips, Larry Lamb and Dr Ranj are among the celebrities who helped launch the Secret Santa charity Action for Children campaign.

Celebrities will send heartfelt Christmas messages and encourage members of the public to make a real difference to the less fortunate during tough economic times.

Each celebrity represents a “warm” wish for children gathered directly from the charity’s frontline workers who provide essential services to children and young people. and families in need across the UK.

Some of the wishes include love, curiosity, friends, laughter, a warm home, loving family, and good mental health.

Being a Secret Santa allows members of the public to donate and provide children with essentials, with donations ranging from £5 for food, up to £125 for one. bed.

Other celebrities involved in the campaign launch include Nadia Sawalha, Imogen Thomas and Saffron Barker, as well as Ranvir Singh, Louise Pentland, Anna Williamson, Chris Robshaw and Camilla Kerslake, Kelvin and Liz Fletcher.

Gavin and Stacey star Lamb said he was “extremely proud” to have been with Action For Children for over a decade.

“Our cause is more timely than ever with so many children and their families struggling with the cost of living crisis.

“Times are tough, but if there’s one thing the British public is known for, it’s their generosity. Being a kid’s secret Santa can help put the magic back into their Christmas.”

Strict former Judge Dame Arlene said: “Being a mother is one of my greatest achievements.

“Parenting can be a really tough job – our instinct is to protect our children. Children are smart and can often feel stress in the home, whether it’s parental conflicts or money worries.

“The thought that some children feel like they have to carry a burden is heartbreaking. Being Secret Santa can help the charity continue to do its important work.”

Other gifts the public can buy include toys and books for £15, Christmas presents for £25 and warm winter clothes for £40.

Last year, the charity supported more than 670,000 children, young people and families in the UK.
