“This prestigious salon has been in Mayfair for over 30 years and is an important part of our lives, both personally and professionally.

“However, the past two years have been the hardest we’ve had with Covid-enforced long-term closures, rising rates and costs making the salon economically unsustainable.”

Talking about the difficult decision, the couple said all employees will be “paid in full” and “all our obligations to them will be fulfilled”.

“Hairdressing is more than just a haircut,” they added.

The group will continue to operate a Nicky Clarke salon in Birmingham, as well as manufacture a range of electric hair tools.
